FOR CHRISTIAN
Christian was on his scooter on his way to the gym early on the morning of November 12 and was cut off by a vehicle which caused him to be thrown from his scooter. He was then hit by a second vehicle. Emergency services transported Christian to the hospital where he passed from his injuries. Christian was and will always be a part of our family at Elite Island Fitness. He was a valued member of our team and a friendly face to our gym members. He loved opening the gym every morning and greeting all of our early bird gym members and he put a smile on our faces every single day. Our hearts are heavy and we will miss him more than words can express. In his memory and honor we want to help his family however we can.
Letter from Christian's family
To the entire gym family, friends, and acquaintances,
We, as Christian Mauricio's family, want to express our gratitude for all your expressions of affection. This has made us understand that, although his stay was very short, he did so much for people without distinction. We are proud of the great human being he became. He inspires us to continue fighting for what was important to him, and what should be important to all of us... helping those who need it most.
I want to let you know that we are using the funds raised for social work. We are helping an indigenous community school called Embera Niaza, located in Restrepo, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. They have 16 children between the ages of 6 and 12 from low- income families.
We are focusing on supporting the education of these vulnerable children.
With Christian's lifelong intention to help wherever needed, and thanks to your financial contributions, we are carrying out this wonderful project.
I will be sending you a video showing the progress being made at the school.
God bless you all. We will be eternally grateful for your expressions of love towards Christian.
Warm regards,
